Weeneebayko Area Health Authority (WAHA) is seeking an experience candidate to fill the key role of Regional Early Psychosis Intervention Worker.

What We Do
There has never been a more exciting time to be at WAHA. We are an integrated health system providing the full continuum of care to the six communities of the western James Bay coast with over 500 employees, physicians, and partners in care. As a health authority, you will work in a unique setting where you have the opportunity to care for patients in all phases of their life journey, in all areas of their health experience. From Primary, Acute, and Mental Health, Dental, Specialty Clinics, Population Health and the WAHA Paramedic Service, the opportunities for growth are boundless. We provide community-based programming in all six of our communities, have six paramedic bases, three hospitals, four emergency departments, one community health centre and a total of 72 beds. Who You Are
  • The ability to work cooperatively with co-workers and management and to use such relationships to improve work performance
  • Possesses a friendly and helpful demeanor
  • Knowledge of First Nations Issues such as colonization and residential school impacts etc.
  • Superior verbal, written, and oral communication skills in English
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion
 
What You’ll Do
  • Demonstrate the ability to conduct and document a comprehensive psychosocial and family assessment in mental health
  • Demonstrate the ability to build relationships and nurture an environment of quality, trauma informed, and culturally safe care
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and ability to provide crisis intervention, counselling individuals and families, and group therapy using evidence-informed approaches including motivational interviewing and harm reduction strategies
  • Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively and effectively in an inter-disciplinary environment.
  • Strong case-management skills
  • Ability to use initiative and exercise clinical judgment
 
What You Bring
  • Bachelor of Social Work required, Master of social Work preferred
  • G or G2 Driver’s License
  • Registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and in good standing
  • Ability to communicate in the local native Cree language is an asset

Salary: $90,090.00 - $97,675.50

Compensation

$46.20 - $50.09 per hour
