Weeneebayko Area Health Authority (WAHA) is seeking for an experienced professional to fill the role of Residential Care Worker.

What We Do
There has never been a more exciting time to be at WAHA. We are an integrated health system providing the full continuum of care to the six communities of the western James Bay coast with over 500 employees, physicians, and partners in care. As a health authority, you will work in a unique setting where you have the opportunity to care for patients in all phases of their life journey, in all areas of their health experience. From Primary, Acute, and Mental Health, Dental, Specialty Clinics, Population Health and the WAHA Paramedic Service, the opportunities for growth are boundless. We provide community-based programming in all six of our communities, have six paramedic bases, three hospitals, four emergency departments, one community health centre and a total of 72 beds. Who You Are
  • Experience in providing services to clients in a hostel, boarding home, group home or institution
  • Experience in providing translation services
  • Experience in counselling an asset
 
What You’ll Do
  • Reviews and maintains active files, record forms, daily appointments, activity board, and does general office duties as required
  • Responsible for hostel maintenance, light housekeeping duties, laundry, kitchen duties, minor repairs, and outdoor maintenance
  • Maintains the cleanliness of the vehicles and records vehicle usage in the log book
  • Maintains strict client confidentiality

What You Bring
  • Successful completion of secondary school with work related experience; community college certificate and/or diploma in the Social Services field
  • WHMIS and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification
  • Must possess current First Aid and CPR certificate
  • Must hold a valid Class G Driver’s license
  • English is essential for this position
  • Must be fluent in the local native Cree language

Compensation

$24.30 - $24.30 per hour
